Hello and Welcome to Eye Feather Designs.

Eye Feather Designs was created by me (Tonia Peacock) as a simple online portfolio to show potential employers or clients samples of my design work.

My Objective is to find a position with a graphic/web design firm which will challenge both my creativity and my intellect. In the meantime I would like to find freelance work to gain experience and add to my portfolio.

My education at Tulsa Community College has included:

XHTML, HTML, CSS
Adobe Creative Suite
Macromedia Studio Suite
Flash Animation
Javascript
3D Graphics with Lightwave
Photography
Future classes include PHP, Macromedia Director, and more.

I anticipate graduating with an Associates of Applied Science in Web Design, spring, 2008.

Achievements I would like to share:

Honors Program participant with a grade point average of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale.
Recipient of Honors Tuition Waiver.
Recipient of Tulsa Community College Outreach Award for work on health and safety website: "Mercury in Your Home"
Currently working on websites for two Bartlesville-area non-profit organizations, which will soon be available to view in my portfolio.

For samples of my work, please view my portfolio.

More about me... One question often asked in an interview is 'What do you feel your strengths and weaknesses are?" When I was younger I had trouble answering this question, but as I have matured I have found it easier to recognize both my strengths and my weaknesses.
First, because I am writing this and I like this part best, my strengths:

At work, I am a perfectionist. I simply don't believe in doing any job half-way. I see every project as a reflection of myself and my abilities, and I want it to reflect favorably. I won't stop or call a project finished until it has reached a level of quality that I can truly be proud of, and I enjoy being able to be proud of what I have accomplished.
I have good communication skills. I feel I have a better than average ability to understand what a client is looking for in a design. As a general rule I get along well with everyone and people seem to like me.
I am very curious and I learn things quickly. Going to college as an adult has been a joy. I excel in my classes and the more challenging the class, the more I enjoy it. (Except College Algebra, I hate Algebra.) I want to continue learning and growing in my career and I will not be satisfied in a position that will not challenge both my creativity and my intellect.
I am loyal, extremely trustworthy and dependable.

And now for my weaknesses:

At work, I am a perfectionist. When other people are satisfied, I want to continue on and this can mean more time spent on a project than necessary.
I don't hesitate to state my opinion. I don't mean that I will tell you that your shirt is ugly, even if it is, but if I believe something work-related could be improved on, I am bound to mention it.
I cannot be happy in a job if I am not able to be creative and to explore and learn new things.
